The advantages of going on holiday in September

Lately, more and more travellers prefer booking their holidays in September. Considering it is the month during which we say goodbye to summer, it is, indeed, an interesting move if you want to enjoy all the good qualities of the season, but with the added appeal of better prices, less crowds, and a more pleasant, moderately warm weather. These are only some of the many reasons you should choose September for your long-awaited and very much deserved holidays. Whether you just want to lay on the beach with a mojito in your hand, go hiking or immerse yourself in the culture of your preferred destination, September offers a great number of advantages other summer months don’t have:

Budget prices

Even though in the last few years the difference between July and August isn’t as discernible any more, in September you will need considerably less money than during high season. If you choose a nice low cost hotel, you will be able to spend more on dining in good restaurants, go to amusement parks, see musicals, or any other activity of your liking. This means if you decide to book your holidays in September, you will obtain much more for less money, which is a great deal, don’t you think?

Less crowds, more peace

The vast majority of people take holidays in July and August, leaving September much less cramped and the least busy period, regardless of the destination of your choice. This is a great advantage for those who are looking for some tranquillity during their holiday: forget about queueing for everything or sharing your carefully chosen place on the beach with tons of other people.

Improvisation equals to relaxation!

Because there are less people, there are many more options when it comes to accommodation, restaurants, or any other activity requiring prior reservation. If you decide to go on holiday in September, there’s always room for some improvisation, allowing you to do whatever you want to do at any given moment. It will be much easier to visit museums, see shows or concerts and can be decided upon on the spot. A few days during which you can listen to what your heart tells you and just go for it.

Moderate temperatures

Depending on the region you are planning to visit, you will encounter different types of climates. If you choose a place by the seaside, you will enjoy warm sunny weather without the suffocating heat of July and August. Temperatures become more moderate, but still pleasant and warm. However, if you want to spend a few days enjoying cooler weather, you can always visit some inland region to take a break from the summer heat.

Guaranteed fun

Another advantage of taking your holiday in September is being able to participate in the festivities taking place in a great number of towns and villages during this month. For example, La Mercé, in Barcelona (from September 18 to 24) is a massive celebration, with performances, street parades and traditional festivals you will be able to experience if you stay in a low cost in Barcelona. Just before La Mercé, the well-known Albacete Fair takes place from September 7 to 17 in this beautiful region of Castilla-La Mancha. Each year a great number of Spaniards come over to enjoy celebrations, concerts, theatre performances, parades, verbenas (open-air dances), bull-fighting, sporting competitions and activities for kids happening here during this time of the year. It’s the perfect opportunity to book a low cost hotel in Albacete and have a blast.

Practice sports without overheating

Many people like to enjoy sport during their holiday, like multi-adventure activities, running, water sports, hiking… Regardless of the sport of your choice, if you go on holiday in September, you won’t feel as hot as during July and August. And now that you’ve seen all the advantages of choosing September for your summer holidays, have we convinced you to organise a little trip to Spain?
