Sidorme On Falles in Valencia
Sidorme went on Falles!
One more year, last week Valencia was dressed in its best clothes to celebrate one of the best known festivals in the country, the “Falles of Valencia”!
During last week the streets and squares were decorated with artistic constructions as a whole, called “Falles”, representing figures known as “ninots”. They are made with combustible materials due to they will be burned at the end of the week.
Early in the morning, you could already feel the smell of powder of the “mascletàs” while you eating the typical breakfast: “bunyols de carabassa” or “xurros amb Xocolata“.
From last Tuesday on, that is when the “Falles” were officialy placed on the street, Valencia did not stop! During the day with bands that accompany the “fallers” and “falleres” on their way and at night with the festivals and concerts.
Last Saturday 19th March took place the last “mascletà” of the week before 200 demons took the streets in the Parade of Fire.
It was at night when the “Falles” got burned, that ended a week of celebrations, joy and feelings for the “fallers” and “falleres”. This is the reason why it was not surprising to see some attendees crying because of the emotion.
Sidorme Valencia could not miss this annual festival, so we went out the streets to live “les Falles 2011”. We took some pictures so we could show to you
